The White House states the executive action will apply to those making less than $43,888 a year.
President Joe Biden announced an executive action that provides overtime to a million salaried workers. The overtime extensions are the result of a rule under the Fair Labor Standards Act that the Department of Labor finalized in April.
President Biden stated, “We are extending overtime protections to 1 million workers making less than $43,888 a year. And next year, we will extend protections to another 3 million workers by increasing the overtime threshold to $58,656. That means higher paychecks and more time with family for millions of Americans.“
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For discernment for U.S. labor officials as they evaluate overtime pay and hours for salaried employees.
- For the president and administration officials as they issue executive orders and actions.
